Some of the problem I have had with past collaborations is I tried to make the guitarist sound like jerry ... I'm not saying that you are doing this. But just thought id share! With this guy he DOES try to sound like Jerry as you can hear on any DSO show....

My ears have givin' Bobby plenty of time to STOP trying to rephrase/reinvent (unnecessarily) Jerry's tunes. If the current configs are going to do Jerry tunes, PLEASE let a fresh/strong/creative vocalist to sing those tunes and let Bobby, Phil, etc to concentrate on the music.

Example: this show's Scarlet

I know what you mean. He'd damned if he does; damned if he doesn't. They sound better than The Dead, at least from what I've heard. I have trouble with JK's vocals though. And Bobby is talk-singing too much. Music is surprisingly good, but singing is kinda bad.

As noted the show was fine but the venue WAS WAY oversold. It was my first time at the place and I doubt I'll be going back anytime soon.Very poorly run.

that stinks. looks like a nice theatre, fairly historic too re: shows that have played there. no offense to any new yorkers but I would imagine being extra packed in would make things even more abrasive. Being a west coaster or midwest suburban raised I don't do too well with the east coast attitude.

other than that how was the music? guess i'll hear when it makes it to the archive ( maybe already has? )

I can't speak for your friend, but the word around is Hot musically, but the venue was over-sold by about 500 people , so it was HOT and PACKED....Total fire hazzard from what I heard, no room on the floor at all...

Really nice to hear a Rueben & Cherise again. My last one was 89 or 90 JGB.
